Chace Murphy

Zone News Director

Email: chace@bbcbryan.com

Bio: When you think award-winning journalism and professional integrity, many names come to mind: unfortunately, this guy probably isn't one of them.

Chace Murphy lost a bet at the age of 17, resulting in his first on-air gig in radio.

More than a few years, a couple of ruined friendships, an awkward incident involving a wolverine (or was it an ex-girlfriend?) and a can of Spam later, we find Chace at Bryan Broadcasting, anchoring the news for three of our five stations.

In his off-time, you can hear Chace at Texas A&M football and men's basketball games. Through some creative work with his resume, and some mean work with a small digital camera and Photoshop, Chace somehow landed the job of public address announcer for these events. Don't ask us how.

You can also hear Chace every Friday night during football season as the "Voice of the Bryan Vikings" on KZNE. We pretty much keep our distance on gamenights because of his penchant for wearing a Viking helmet and singing songs about pillaging while drinking an odd concoction from a pewter cup.

On the personal side, Chace is married (again, don't ask us how) with a daughter (THAT may be how) and three ankle-biting dachshunds that only put up with him when Mom is nowhere to be found.

You can hear Chace weekdays between 6 and 9 a.m. interrupting ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike" to get you caught up on the latest news.
